Attribution

Determining which marketing channel or touchpoint drove a conversion. Common models: first-touch (gives credit to the first interaction), last-touch (last interaction), and multi-touch (distributes credit). Without UTM tagging on every outbound link, attribution falls apart - your "Direct" traffic balloons and you cannot optimize spend. GA4 plus a multi-touch model is the 2026 default for SMBs.
